Jute Geotextiles are a category of products that are used extensively in
road construction, to reinforce river banks, and to stabilise agricultural
slopes. Economical and easy to produce, jute geotextiles have high initial
strength, are highly absorbent, and can be customised to suit specific
requirements. Synthetic forms of geotextiles are available and commonly used,
but may be detrimental to the environment in the long term. Jute is
biodegradable and helps improve soil characteristics, making it a more
sustainable option.
